Mooting

The undergraduate mooting program is home to a team of students devoted to the practice of oral legal advocacy. The team has won awards at competitions nation-wide.

Locally, the Mooting Board hosts the University of Toronto Cup in conjunction with UTPLS and the U of T Faculty of Law.

U of T Mock Trials

About us

The University of Toronto Pre-Law Society's Mock Trials division is an opportunity to give pre-law students another route to a comprehensive experience. Mock Trials offers students an exciting insight into important aspects of the legal system.

We believe that mock trial provides students with a practical legal experience prior to attending law school and provides an opportunity to develop legal skills, including legal reasoning, litigation, logical reasoning, and oral advocacy.

Intra Vires Undergraduate Journal

Intra Vires is a student-led journal that features analytic writing on law and legal issues from University of Toronto undergraduate students.

The call for submissions for our fifth issue is now open. Submission Deadline: December 24, 11:59PM

How to submit: Any student enrolled in an undergraduate program at the University of Toronto may submit to the journal so long as their essay has a substantive focus on law or legal issues. The law intersects with a road variety of disciplines, and we encourage submissions from a variety of subject POSts. Notable programs include Political Science; Aboriginal Studies; International Relations; Public Policy; Women and Gender Studies; Diaspora and Transnational Studies; Peace, Conflict and Justice Studies; Ethics, Society and Law; Economics; Criminology; Global Health; and Environmental Studies.

Intra Vires opts for submissions that combine strong legal analysis with insight into law’s impact on society.

Submission Requirements: Essays are prepared for University of Toronto courses and have received a grade of at least A- (80%).

Submission instructions: Email to intravires.utpls@gmail.com in .doc form (not .pdf). In your email please include your name, the grade your paper received, the course name to which the paper was submitted, your program of study, the name of your professor/TA, and the title of your paper.
